Christina Cairns specializes in mobilizing catalytic investment, creating blended finance solutions and leveraging public-private partnerships for improved economic development, climate resilience and sustainability. Through multiple development roles with USAID and DFC, she has proven team leadership and multi-stakeholder collaboration across sectors and geographic regions. Currently she serves as an Investment Manager at the US DFC, where is is responsible for sourcing, underwriting and executing over $2.2 Billion in direct debt and credit risk guaranties to financial institutions and MSMEs that expand access to finance and promote inclusive, sustainable growth in emerging markets globally. She was competitively selected under USAID's Development Leadership Initiative to design and manage international aid programs, deliver technical expertise and promote public-private partnerships in support of USAID priorities, including the Development Partnerships Team Lead for Power Africa where she led over $23 billion in partnerships to improve access to finance for sub-Saharan Africa and the Climate Change and Natural Resources Officer for the USAID Eastern and Southern Caribbean regional mission in Barbados where she managed three $5-10 million programs on climate change adaptation and mitigation for small island developing states and the Northern Amazon.
