Professional Bio:
Hannah Marqusee is a health systems expert with 14 years of experience who is passionate about improving the sustainability and effectiveness of foreign aid. She brings skills in strategic planning, program design, project management, and data analysis. Throughout her career she has worked on infectious disease, reproductive health, maternal and child health, noncommunicable disease, and mental health programs. She has deep expertise in health systems, with specific focus on health financing and private sector engagement. Her past projects have focused on health insurance, public financial management, quality improvement, and market shaping. She has spent six years living and working in Cambodia, Nepal, and Botswana, and has additional experience in Latin America, the Middle East and sub-Saharan Africa.
Hannah holds an MBA in Nonprofit Management and an MS in Global Health Policy and Management from the Heller School at Brandeis University. Her writing has been featured by National Public Radio, and in journals such as BMC and Public Health. She is the winner of multiple awards from USAID for performance, including a Superior Honor Award for her design of a mental health program, U.S. Embassy Cambodia’s highest annual award.
