Professional Bio:
Megan Price Taylor is an international development professional and strategic advisor with over 15 years of experience advancing clean energy and climate goals across sub-Saharan Africa. She is the Founder and CEO of Skylight Strategic Partners, a boutique advisory firm that supports public and private sector actors in mobilizing development finance, building strategic partnerships, and accelerating just energy transitions.
Prior to launching her firm, Megan spent a decade at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) supporting the Power Africa initiative. During this time, her work spanned policy engagement, program design, interagency coordination, and high-level donor alignment, positioning her as a trusted interlocutor between governments, development partners, and the private sector. Megan has advised developers and investors on accessing U.S. government and donor tools—including those of DFIs, MDBs, and philanthropies—and managed a $43 million interagency portfolio spanning seven U.S. agencies. She also led strategic trade promotion activities to boost U.S. clean energy exports and advance commercial diplomacy across African energy markets. Notably, Megan played a pivotal role in the implementation of the U.S. government’s Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) with South Africa—a landmark $1 billion+ commitment.
Megan’s expertise lies in connecting the dots between policy, finance, and implementation. She brings a deep understanding of global development ecosystems and a strong track record of fostering collaboration among diverse stakeholders—from presidential advisors and ministers to CEOs, financiers, and grassroots implementers.
Earlier in her career, Megan served as a government affairs director in Washington, DC, and supported SME development efforts in South Africa through donor-funded initiatives. She holds a Master’s in Political Management from George Washington University and a BBA from the University of Mississippi. She has also completed executive certificates in power sector finance and regulation from the University of Cape Town.
Megan permanently resides in Cape Town, South Africa with her family.
