Dr Quamrul Ahsan, PE, is the President of HydroSys Modeling, Inc., a New Jersey
consulting firm with expertise in modeling natural systems such as lakes, rivers, Oceans
and Estuaries. He worked as a Professor at the Institute of Water and Flood Management, BUET, Bangladesh. Dr Ahsan is currently co-leading a few research projects and co-supervise several graduate students at IWFM, BUET. He worked as a Senior Project Manager at HydroQual, Inc., New Jersey, USA for 20 years where he led several projects in modeling lakes, rivers, coastal and ocean environments. Dr Ahsan is retained as a National Water Resources Management Expert at BWDB, Bangladesh.

His works are directed towards understanding and predicting the physical dynamics of
estuarine and coastal ocean circulation and the creation of ocean observing and forecasting systems. Dr Ahsan led a major study to create a forecasting modeling system for the United States Navy. He worked in several major estuaries and lakes in the United States. He is recognized as one of the leading experts in coastal oceanography and has written over 22 peer-reviewed journal articles and conference proceedings.
