Professional Bio:
Rena is a seasoned and results-driven financial management executive with over 25 years of experience spanning donor organizations, consultancy, and banking. As a Deputy Director, Finance at USAID Uganda, I oversaw a $300 million portfolio, drove risk-informed strategic planning, and guided the Mission’s internal controls and compliance framework for more than 10 years. My career has been defined by a consistent ability to streamline complex financial systems, develop data-driven reporting frameworks, and lead transformative initiatives—from designing programs and financing strategies to strengthening institutional capacity and financial management.
Across every sector I have served—from spearheading audit reforms in consultancy, to consolidating operations and policy frameworks in banking, to guiding financial strategy at the forefront of international development—I have built a reputation as a trusted advisor, strategic thinker, and catalyst for results. I bring a deep understanding of multi-sectoral financial systems and risk dynamics, backed by a proven ability to engage governments, donors, and partners to deliver sustainable impact. My passion lies in bridging financial excellence with development effectiveness, transforming systems, empowering teams, and enabling results that matter.
