Silvia Petrova is an environmental and international development expert with over 20 years of experience leading global initiatives in circular economy, solid waste management, and climate resilience across 30+ countries.
She has advised governments, businesses, and non-profits on designing and scaling practical solutions for sustainable solid waste, ocean plastic pollution, land use change, and forestry monitoring. As a former Ocean Plastics Advisor at USAID, Silvia directed multi-million-dollar programs advancing circular economy innovation and women’s economic empowerment throughout Southeast Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
With a strong background in geospatial science and data-driven decision-making, Silvia brings a systems approach to solving environmental challenges—bridging policy, technology, and community action.
She holds a Master’s in Geographic Information Science for Development and Environment from Clark University, Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Computer Science from Technical University in Sofia, Bulgaria, and is a Certified Zero Waste Associate.
Silvia is open to helping organizations, businesses, and cities turn sustainability goals into measurable, lasting impact.
